drive shafts

well i got the front springs in my truck and the 3/4 ton rear in and i went to see how short my drive shaft is now . i noticed that the drive line angle was a little extream i was wondering what everyone is runing to compensate for this ?

sorry i was typeing too fast to realize i didnt mention witch drive shaft . i was talking about the front one .

I've heard of clocking the transfer case or pivoting the axle upward. Either requires a bit of work underneath.

Do you have pics?

I'm running an 8" lift and the front shaft angle isn't so bad.
Wonder why yours might be.

Here's a couple pics showing how mine sits, the first ones are of the "old" shaft and the larger shaft is what I'm currently running.

It's a one ton drive shaft with a 12" slip, 1430 joints and it has a different flange @ the t-case than the other one does.

Be careful on shimming the front axle to get better driveline angles. If you shim the axle to point the pinion up to the t-case for better angles, your caster setting will get worse. To correct driveline angles without impacting castor, you have to cut off the inner "C"s of your axle dial in the correct change for the driveline angles and then reweld your inner c's back on with the correct castor value. Meaning it's a ton of work and if you aren't precise on the measurements, the axle could be put way out of adjustment for either issue.
