Re: Which headers?

I would say that they wouldnt scrap ill go out in the morning and measure mine. See how low they get from the frame.

I like the flow tech cause the say oval size the other could be round or oval.

As for what are their differents are the flow tech has a tighter fit on the pipes closens other then that. I can see a differents.

Re: Which headers?

When you slap the new headers on, just make sure you tighten the collector gaskets every 100 miles or so for a while. I didn't do it the first time and ended up going through 3 sets before I kept them from leaking.

My truck is lowered about 4" in the front, and my A arms drag before the headers do. But I seldom have problems dragging. Just make sure to go slow over speed bumps...

Re: Which headers?

Hookers get really close to the starter, at least on my truck. Flowtech fit better, but they aren't as thick in tube diameter. Take a look at Hedman ceramic coated headers or maybe Dynomax. For your budget the Summit headers look like a good buy, but beware you get what you pay for.

Lol, all of them are out of my range, The summits look almost exactly the same as a pair of Dynomax's I found, even the specs are identical, what might be so diffrent in the inside?

Re: Which headers?

I purchased Hedman "shorties" from summit a few months back. They are the ceramic coated ones. I paid $385 for them, I see that now summit has them for $410.

Re: Which headers?

Sorry mine aren't ceramic coated. It's a toss between Hedman or Flowtech I guess. Hedman might be better overall as for as the way they fit and how close the bolt holes are to the actual pipe.

Re: Which headers?

Headers can be had for under 500 dollars?!?!

I'm used to seeing them listed for $1500 a set for 'vettes!!

I think I may get fresh headers and pipes sooner than expected

Re: Which headers?

Hmmm, I have a set of Hedman's on my truck now, I had to elongate 5 holes and dent 3 tubes to get the damn bolts in. Once installed the driver's side is sticking outward by 3" and the right side inward by 1 1/2". They are the BIGGEST piece of crap I ever bought. They only have about 30 mins. run time on them and are going in the trash when my Hookers and cab goes back on.

Re: Which headers?

Just hold off a little longer until you can add another hundred, Then buy a set of REAL headers.
You will be glad you did.

Re: Which headers?

I have always been a fan of hookers, have used headman, cyclone, dynomax, doug's,and some I didn't know. Hookers always fit well, perform well and last. Alot depends on the intended use. Do you research and pick accordingly. Now stop the hooker jokes,I heard them as I wrote...
