Is there one intake manifold above them all?

I'm hopefully gonna put Vortech heads(pre-drilled for use with 86 and earlier style manifolds) and might look into a new manifold. Are they all the same, or are some better than others? This will be a daily driver, but as much power as possible is what I'm looking for. I already have an Edlebrock performer intake, but it's about 5 years old and pretty well crusted up in the coolant passages. If there's no real difference, then I might just clean this one up, but then again I think weiands are only like $90...

If you are thinking about a new intake anyways, don't bother redrilling the heads and buy either the GM Vortec or Performer Vortec. While your manifold will "fit" the redrilled heads, it doesn't accurately line up with the raised ports of the Vortec heads. This is where they gain most of their flow benefits so you are shooting yourself in the foot by not running a Vortec specific intake.

Agreeing with the last post, I would like to add that is you have a mild cam, run the performer vortec...a wild one...got with the RPM. I have run both intakes on both types of engines.
A mis matched intake/cam, is worse than a stock engine...worst case cenerio...it'll feel like a sick inline. (performer RPM on stock 305 fits that last description)

How bout a performer RPM on a 350. Would that work well?

If you have the cam to support it, yeah.
That's what I have on my GMC right now. But it has quite a bit of cam.

my truck runs like crap, its a 350, hei, and to my knowledge i dont have anythign but a stock cam, and i have no idea of how to tell what cam i have. right now i have a performer on there, what woudl you reccomend andy, thanks

Well, the performer is PERFECT for an upgrade on a stock engine. If you have tried tuning it, and it passes compression test and you've tried all teh normall stuff, then you may be needing a carb.
But make sure you have looked at EVERYTHIGN.
What are your exact symptoms that = running like crap?

well, i cant say it really runs like crap, i did drive it 2400 miles no problem, but when its idleing, it is real rough at times, like to die, when i hit the brakes, it likes to die. (thats scary sometimes) sometimes it seems it should have more power then it does when going up hills and stuff. im not sure but i may have a vacumm leak, i am going to find out soon though, i am getting motivated to get this beast going right.
