New Ride - Been here before..

Just wanted to drop in and say glad I am back. Back to 60-66 trucks. I have been frequenting the 73-87 boards for a while now and am almost finished with my 78' project.

I used to own a 62' kneeknocker-ShortWide back in the day but as we all do I moved on, albeit unwillingly, This was my 62' right before I sold it.

6cyl 261, converted 3 on the floor, 4:11 posi and wide tubs & tires. It was a Custom Cab with a perfect Anodized aluminum grill. Total cruiser but it was my way to get around and it looked cool for the 7 yrs I owned it. I have always kicked myself for sellin that truck. I didn't get much money for it so it made it twice as hard. But hard times require hard choices.

Anyway.. I have always wanted another kneeknocker truck. So I institued my options and got one for free. Some 15yrs later! IOU's from relatives are great!! Here's my new 63' Longbox weekend driver. It's got a 283/PG w/ 12bolt &posi. Custom cab and another Anodized aluminum grill. Bench seat with some weird custom headrest setup in it? It's go tthe normal rust they all have up here in the Northwest. But it's a driver and it's MINE!!

It's not much but it brings me back to somethin I miss very much.

Good to be here and can't wait to swap stories & knowledge with ya...

Glad to have you back, looks like a nice project. The 78 looks awesome!! My first truck was a 77 short wide, so I have a soft spot for them also.

That's no a bad lookin truck. and an exceptionally nice looking grill! Last year I was lucky enough to find a perfect Aluminum grill and cab corner trim at Pull & Save in Spokane

Glad to have you back. I had a 80 model for 23 years before coming back to a 63 and now a 65.
