Searching for an odd wheel size (steel wheels)
Is anyone familiar with a plain ol' steel wheel, 17" x 7" to 9", that has a Chevy 5 on 5 bolt pattern? I know I can get them made by Stockton Wheel, but I was hoping there was some manufacturer out there that maybe made this as a standard size for something? To have Stockton custom make anything is very expensive. It would be nice if the steel spare wheel for something like a 94-96 Impala SS was the right size, but I think the spare in the Impala I had was a 15" wheel and tire, even though the wheels on the car were 17".
So, does anybody know of a 17" steel wheel that has a 5 on 5 bolt pattern? I'm open to all suggestions, all makes, anything that matches that criteria. |

Also, I can't for the life of me understand why 16" = $100 and 17" = $200 (per wheel)? It's only an inch bigger! Must be some sort of supply and demand thing. Stockton can take any wheel I want and make it bigger, but add ANOTHER $100 per wheel onto that figure. There's gotta be something out there that I can pick up in a boneyard for $20 bucks. |
