Question about slam RE7's and psi
im currently trying to configure-order my air-ride, you guys running slam RE7's, what kind of max pressure are you running, and i guess what kind of pressure are you running for normal driving. Im trying to decide between a 150psi compressor, or 200psi compressor, anyone have advice?

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
I run around 55psi in the front and 35psi in the rear, seems to be the "sweet spot" for ride quality. I can get full lift with about 70/50 and with 1000 lbs of hay in the back, I had about 80psi in the rear and it looked good.
<edit> I don't keep more than 120psi in the tank and I've never had my bags fuller than that (and would never dirve with that much in). My gauges only go to 150.

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
You should't be putting that much pressure in them. Sure, I suspect there's some headroom in that value, but the point of Max is to tell you the extreme limit... a place you shouldn't go to.

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
to answer your question, no, you'll never fill the bags to 200 psi.
like jimmydean said, you'll keep 35-60 psi in them. based on the chart, if you have 4k lbs on a single bag you would only need to fill to 140psi to get full lift. |

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
a 380 should be fine for you, just realize it will take about 7-10 minutes to fill your tank to 150psi from 0. I got 2 of them because I am the "gotta have it now" type of guy.

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
im like you fleet.. gotta have it NOW, i've found some damn good deals on the 380 on ebay, let me ask another question.. i was all this stuff mounted totaly out of sight, im going to mount (2) 3 gallon tanks on the frame rails in front of the rear wheels, could i mount the compressors on the frame behind the rear wheels. My main concern is having water-dust-rocks flung up and hiting these compressors, will dirt and such destroy these things? and where do you all have them mounted?

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
Mine is mounted on the inside of the frame behind the rear wheel on the passenger side. I had it on the outside at first and it seemed fine there. I used a shielded breather for the air intake. If you mount it there, just mount the air intake filter somewhere a little more protected and you should be ok.

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
I made mine out of an Edelbrock breather because my compressor didn't come with one. You can just use a barbed hose fitting and a length of hose to mount your air cleaner remotely.
Just mount it somewhere less exposed to tire wash and you should be fine. Here is a picture of mine without the air cleaner when I first installed it. I made the air filter before I drove it anywhere.

Re: Question about slam RE7's and psi
Here is my tank mounting for reference. The compressor is now mounted using the same holes, only it's on the inside of the rail.
