motor mounts.

Hi, I was wondering if someone has used these 1963-72 CHEVY TRUCK BOLT IN SIDE MOTOR MOUNT BRACKETS #16396. They are from performanceonline.com. I was using the factory v8 mounts with the center bolt from the bottom but I am having clearance issues and cant get the cast iron exhaust mainfold to fit as the manifold is hitting the frame mount.

The price of these are 129.00 plus tax and shipping.

Maybe you have another suggestion to fix this?

Re: motor mounts.

I bought this kit with the tranny crossmember,,,,They seem to work allright, but I am having to buy some truck manifolds where the pipe comes out the end so the exhaust won't hit the crossmember...

They are nice though....

I'll see if I have a pic of mine, if I don't I'll take one tomorrow.......

Re: motor mounts.

No exhaust manifold on them right now....but this will show you how they look..

Re: motor mounts.

why did you have to cut the frame? I thought they bolted up in the factory holes. what kind of mainfolds are you using?

Re: motor mounts.

Yeah, I thought they bolted up too....if you read the description, it says modification may be needed.....I think it bolts right in to the 60-63 frame where the frame dips back in
.............look at the a pic in the ad....

But it did not bolt right in, some grinding or cutting may be involved.....

I'm just going to get some stock truck exhaust manifolds right now...

I had some car manifolds on it, but the exhaust would have hit the crossmember, because it comes out of the centered over the front crossmember..........

Re: motor mounts.

Why not just find some V8 mounts and perches for a 65.. They work really well..
