Neutral Safety Switch Question

I saw a neutral safrty switch advertised on ebay as , 700R4 Neutral Safety Switch. It was manufactured by The Ron Francis Wire Works Co.. When I asked the seller if ther is a difference, or will I need this type of switch when I replace my Turbo 350 with a 700R4, he said "yes". I have read numerous threads on this site concerning the 700R4 swap and no one, that I can recall, has ever mentioned the need to change the neutal safety switch. Anyone with any info on this

Re: Neutral Safety Switch Question

I can't see how they'd be different; someone else may know for sure.

Re: Neutral Safety Switch Question

Wouldn't there be a wire hanging out of the tranny that you would use? How would you get a tranny that doesn't have this?

Re: Neutral Safety Switch Question

the neutral safty switch is mounted on the steering column(or shifter linkage when using aftermarket floor shifts) not the tranny/ there is no wiring from the tranny to the switch

Re: Neutral Safety Switch Question

cdowns is correct. I have a 700r4 and absolutely no electrics go to the transmission. Linkage, speedo cable (you'll need the longer 4x4 cable) , two lines for fluid, filler neck, and your TV...that's it
