Re: west coast mirror pics

I was told awhile ago that my mirrors are West Coast Senior. I've repainted them since the pictures were taken. They are easy to see out of and don't shake at all while heading down the road. They might be a little dorky looking, but hey, it's my truck and I'm okay with that.

Re: west coast mirror pics

Myoldchevy, those are called "Bus Style".Toomuchstuff showed the Sr west coasts. The factory offered Jr west coasts, also, but they called them Junior RVs,only on 67/68s.Then,went to below eyeline mirrors.

Re: west coast mirror pics

I'm looking to replace my ' western ' style camper mirrors. ( pictured )
These mirrors BLIND SPOT, SO MUCH from front / side ( almost 70 degrees ) from my vision.
Funny thing is , these are as USEFULL as they are designed to be -
but -
they are also just as much a hinderence to blind spots!
would you please post your mirrors/
I noticed alot of 80's Chevy vans, ( chrome mirrors ) but I believe they are electric ?,

UPDATE, As you can see i did replace my Western style mirrors, now to plug ALL those holes......
just my two pecos...

Re: west coast mirror pics

wibilly my friend has the jr's set up like in the pic from special-K all made of stainless steel , he said some of the parts came off a ford of the 67-68 times and the mirror framing and back plate off the u-haul trucks well thats what he said tweenty five years ago, and still to this day his mirrors and 68 truck look bad~@$$ . special-K that 67 is imo the best and there be no better.

Re: west coast mirror pics

special-k those are the ones. do you have a pick of the mounts showing how the break away hardware is stacked on the mounting brackets? there is the two tits on top but it seems to me thaton the bottomwhere the door is weaker is where you would want it to be able to fold easier. the set that was on my 67 were from a ford and were not assembled the same from side to side the other set i got at a swap meet are from a 68. ayear and a half i compleatly disasembled them both, blasted and primed them and put them away. now i'm ready to mount and ajust them and i'm lost thanks
