Re: How many MPG's do you get??

LOL.. I hear you..

I'm starting to care because I'm starting to drive my '64 almost everyday.

My I should dust off my '55 sedan. At least the gas gauge doesn't work right and I wouldn't be able to figure out the MPG's

Sometimes denial is the best policy..

Re: How many MPG's do you get??

These trucks are as aerodynamic as barn doors.... around town I get 17.5. During a recent 800 mile parts run to Salt Lake City I got around 14..... 80-85 mph the whole way..... 2003 5.3/4L60E

Re: How many MPG's do you get??

My 64 C10 w/ 230L6 got 16 mpg empty at about 55 mpg freeway. MPG dropped fast when a load was added. Poor little engine had to work so hard.

My dad has some mid-90's Chev PU with 350, not sure of details, but we did talk about MPG once, he got 20 MPG on freway when he first got it. Over the years it dropped to about 17. (Needs a tune up?)

My same 64 C10 now has a 350, don't know the MPG, the speedo/odometer has worked for a decade.

Re: How many MPG's do you get??

Just did a recent round trip of 238 miles through towns but mostly 60-70 mph and got 16.8 mpg with my 66 longbed fleetside. The combo is a warmed over 355 SBC with an RV cam and a 650 Holley mated to a S10 5 speed with a .73 5th gear and 3.73 in the back with a 29" tire. I was happy!
