1969 GMC Wiring Questions

I have a 1969 GMC 1/2-ton pickup that has a 292 and a TH350. I went thought the entire wiring system and replaced the wiring that was bad and fixed the parts that were missing. The guy i bought the truck really did a number on it because the truck had a eletircal short. I followed the 1968 Wiring diagram in the 1967-1972 factroy assembly guide and thought i got it right. The question is i think that the main charging system is wrong because when i have key on the run position everything works like the heater, headlight, turn and brake lights, but when i turn the key is is the off positions everything turns off and the entire electrical system goes dead. Do I have something wrong or is this so post to happen.

heat, turn signals, back up lights, wipers, and radio... I think that's everything that's shut off with the key.
Well, power to the distributor too.
