Power steering conversion
Hello Im looking to convert my 69 gmc from manual to power steering. what are my options? Will a box off a latter model work? I would like the quickest ratio I can get. What should I look for? Thanks.

Re: Power steering conversion
Pull the complete system off a late model donor. Any GM truck up to '87 or Blazer/Burb to '91 will work.
Take the pump, brackets, hoses, box, rag joint and anything else you think you will need. Everything bolts right up like it belongs there. Wait, it does belong there; what are you waiting for? -Chris

Re: Power steering conversion
Some 69's (mine was like this) have to notch the bumper bracket to clear the end of the steering box. You will notice when you hold it up.
Right where the bumper bolts to the frame, you need to trim out the corner.

Re: Power steering conversion
Cool! I was hoping it would be that easy. Now I guess the question is what years and models have the quick ratio boxes in them. Any ideas?
