Re: Sway bar for 69 GMC

The front bars are the same from 67 to 87 on pickups - 1/2, 3/4. Quite reasonable at junkyards. Lower control arms have the mounting hole standard. Frame brackets are available from ECE or GM. Some times the bar is mounted directly to the frame without a bracket. The straps and bushing are available from vendors or GM.

I don't know anything about the rear bars with leaf springs.

Re: Sway bar for 69 GMC

The best front bars I find are off of old 70's & 80's tow trucks & HD 3/4 tonnes I find. They are 1 1/4. this is a great FAQ;

Re: Sway bar for 69 GMC

If you happen to see a P/30 or a motor home in the junk yard, you can look for a rear sway bar on them. I know as early as 68 they did. This would be big HD stuff, and in all reality, may be too big a bar to run on a light duty truck with a small bar up front, but even if you installed one and discovered that, a one ton owner on here would pay just about what ever you wanted for it if you decided to remove it.

Re: Sway bar for 69 GMC

Of course... since you have real leaf springs, you could look underneath practicly any truck you come across in the junk yards... chevy, ford, dodge.. what ever you come across. Late model trucks pretty much all have an avalible rear sway bar.
