ece vrs cpp
i was wanting to know if any one has used classic performance products (cpp) if the quality is good and if any problems with fitment including drop spindles, control arms, trailing arms, etc. Ive used early classics (ece) stuff on three trucks now two 67s and my 72 and have had no problems love there stuff just thought i might get something diff. for the 68 maybe i should stick with what i have used looking at buying a 4/6 lowering kit thanks for all the help and when i get more work done on the 68 ill post some pics.

Re: ece vrs cpp
I think the ECE stuff is a bit better. The CPP stuff I got is nice, but I did have a little bit of fit issues with the track bar and I heard the notches don't all fit as well as they should.
I have not heard any issues with anything ECE has to offer.

I put an ECE super track bar on my 72 and I love it!!! It was extremely well designed and built!

Re: ece vrs cpp
I have ordered some stuff from ccp and it was pretty average. I have yet to order from ece. CCP's shipping took forever too.

Re: ece vrs cpp
I've installed one ECE kit so far, (4/6), and tomorrow I'm installing one in my brother's truck, (4/5). Both with Super Track Bars.
I'm confident that the install will go well. Their parts are made very well. I haven't used CPP stuff yet, but the chassis they did a while back in Custom Classic Trucks magazine looked great. Their parts look very nice. Pete |

Re: ece vrs cpp
I've ordered a fair amount from both companies, and have received the same quality service and parts from both. Shipping times are the same, haven't had a reason to call either one of them.

Re: ece vrs cpp
Another vote for ECE. Not only do they provide top-notch quality parts, ECE also provides outstanding customer service. I have had Terry at ECE contact me about fitment issues related to parts I ordered before they were shipped. ECE is all about the customer, so go with ECE.

I like ECE. I'm running their sway bar and 6 lug rotors.

Re: ece vrs cpp
CPP = big headache for me. They sent me an empty box that was supposed to contain the Lokar e-brake assy. Customer service said 'oh, that was a display model, its still in the display case'...!?! No kidding. Their 'direct fit, bolt in' aluminum radiators require removal of the lower rad mounts, and custom upper mounts. Customer service said, 'well, these radiators require minor modifications'..... brake and spindle kit had missing parts, then they send the wrong parts as replacements. That was 2 years ago, my trucks been sitting ever since...

Re: ece vrs cpp
Well I went to both of their sites yesterday looking for an extreme drop x-member. Both were the same price, but ECE wanted $53 to ship it and CPP only wanted $27, now how in the hell can they be that much difference in shipping? I went with CPP as ECE was trying to gouge me on the shipping big time.

Re: ece vrs cpp
i know this is an old thread, but i wanted to say i have just ordered from ECE and CPP. First i have been doing business with ECE for a while and will in the future. This was my first CPP order and it went flawlessly. I ordered the axle kit which included, Superior 5 lug axles, Centric drums, wheel studs and cover gaskit nice kit. I ordered that last Monday. On the same day i ordered the trailing arm x member from ECE. The items from both companies arrived today, not bad for cross country ground. So i got lucky i guess from what i read about the wait for CPP's shipping. But i think i will do most of my business with ECE since the deal strictly with our trucks. Dont get me wrong i was happy with CPP but i want to go with the proven.
Oh BTW the shipping for the cross member was 38 bucks and ship weight was 40 lbs so thats not bad i guess.
