Re: Radiator Shroud
It was the only fan for a reverse flow cooliong system I could find at the time. Its replacing a 16" electric which wouldnt cool it either. I'm trying here to see if the whole mech fan, shroud set-up will work. I'd like to have a big clutch fan. Thanks

Re: Radiator Shroud
Once you polish the shroud it will look great.
What is the deal with the flex fans? I have one on my '69 w/350/th350 (no shroud) and geeps it plenty cool in the East Texas weather we are having right now. In traffic it starts to warm up a little more (ideling). Should I go with a clutch fan set up or electric.

Re: Radiator Shroud
I'm having the same problem. My 3.8 Taurus fan burnt up because I had it running on ignition on, and I was tired of blowing fuses. I have a serpentine belt system so I need the reverse rotation fan also. I'm going back to the original 5 or 6 blade fan that came on the truck I got the serp system off of, but it rubs my original shroud. I'm in the same boat. I have one of the 6 cyl shrouds that just sits over the fan, but not sure how that will look with my truck.

Re: Radiator Shroud
I think you show VERY nice fab skills there. If it looks that nice on a test fit you'll more than suprise us with the finished product. Keep us posted on your findings.

Re: Radiator Shroud
I agree with pretty much everything said... I'd throw that flex fan as far as i could, and locate a nice solid clutch fan.
OLDIRON, clutch fans have a nasty habit of throwing blades through the hood... not into the hood, but through the hood. |

Its a be-Cool direct fit radiator, that came with a 16" electric fan. The whole kit I believe cost about a grand. Probably not worth it because you can piece the setup together for less than that if you look. Thanks everyone for your comments. |
