Completly stuck
I absolutly cannot get this clutch linkage tube off! If anybody has a pic or anything about how this is supposed to work I would be very very grateful. Its really loose and seems like it should come right out but it just wont. Im really thinking I will have to grind or drill the rivets out of the bracket here are some crappy pics
This is what it looks like laying in its "track" Here it is as high as I can lift it Thanks for anything you guys can tell me. If I can even find out what the "tube" is called Ill google for hours.

Re: Completly stuck
You should be able to get to the stud on the engine. Unscrew it from the block, push it into the tube and then you will be able to pull the Z-bar right out.

Re: Completly stuck
I just replaced the clutch pivot ball on my truck last week. You need to remove the linkage from the clutch pedal and the linkage that go to the throwout bearing fork on the bellhousing. Then the whole pivot arm will slide off the pivot ball on the engine side.
Once you have the pivot arm off there is a spring clip that holds the frame side pivot ball in the pivot arm. Remove the spring and the ball come out with a plastic bushing that is in the tube of the pivot arm. Hope this helps you out. |

Re: Completly stuck
I can loosen it about a half turn then whole thing gets dead tight and nothing will budge.

Re: Completly stuck
Maybe it needs grease real bad.Loosen the ball-stud with the z-bar in it`s proper place so as to not bind.Sorry,I forgot that bracket is riveted to the frame from factory.

Re: Completly stuck
Maybe if you jack the engine up a 1/2" to an 1" you will have more clearence. The Z-bar shoulf pull right of the engine pivor ball.

Re: Completly stuck
Yeah that was the plan (jack up engine) but I decided to put it all back together and let the local old school look at it because Im not seeing the things I thought I would see for blown head gasket. The exhaust ports were dry. Im considering registering here so I can look for a crate engine I can throw in there, put the one I have on a stand and mess with it over time cause like Ive said before Im very inexperienced and I have hardly any tools. But thanks for yalls input it is always appreciated.
