Fan Replacement

I have to replace my water pump on the 350 in my 70 stepside. I have a high performance aluminum one I am going to install. I have also read that it is probably a good idea to replace the flex fan which is on there now with a regular stock fan setup as the flex fans have been known to come apart. What fan and fan clutch should I use? I can find one in the junk yard, but what years will work? Could I use one from a truck or burb with a 350 from the late 70's early 80's? How about a car fan setup from the same period? I am sure somebody has already done this. Any advice would help.
