That is not the frame you cut for oil filter access is it? Looks like a pretty big hunk. If it is I think you ought to weld it back in and get a remote filter kit. JMO

Look like a tight squeeze. A lot of effort to be different.

longhornmail-I had some people at a shop I know custom make the motor mounts( i just noticed i could have bought universal motor mounts from CMD and saved a little money but oh well ) and the tranny crossmember was welded by them too( im not the greatest with a welder, just learning) but I put the motor and tranny in. I figured id let them fab the stuff so it was done right.

umrebelsfan-no its the front crossmember right below the front of the motor( the pic was kinda decieving,I took the picture a little close.)

kxmotox247- yes its going to be tight once i get the fenders in there isn't going to be much room under the hood but it'll be worth it. I could always go for the sleeper look and put the badges on the front fenders that say 307 and quiet mufflers, suprise the heck out of wannabe racers thinking its just a crappy old truck

I'm a big caddy fan as well. Those engines may not always be quick but they are smoooooth once they get to speed.

I had a 67 convertible. 429 engine was a great one as well. Frank Sinatra stuck in the underdash cassette because God wanted it that way. Huge seating areas and trunk. Got me started on quest to own one of all the GM lines in 67. What a year!
