Blazer Tank Swap Question/Issue

I picked up a blazer tank swap kit for my Beater & tonight I was doing some test fitting of the tank.

I had to remove the spare tire cross-member as expected & the factory punched holes in the frame line up like they should vs. the holes on the reinforced tank flange.

The issue I'm noticing is the front of the tank on the drivers side does not clear the pan-hard bar mount. Either the tank flange or the pan-hard bar mount will need to be trimmed...... or possibly both.

Has anyone else that's done this conversion had a similar problem? What was your solution?

Just asking questions to make better decisions. . .....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Blazer Tank Swap Question/Issue

I moved my tank back as far as possible and drilled new holes for the straps. I used a poly tank though, so no flange...

Re: Blazer Tank Swap Question/Issue

I didn't notice any problems on mine, but mine is an original blazer tank. Its not super roomy back there but it clears fine.

This is the only side shot I have of mine.

Re: Blazer Tank Swap Question/Issue

Hey Scoti,

Let me know how your conversion goes. I live next to LMC Truck and was just about to buy their Blazer Tank Conversion kit for my '67 for $199 w/sender. My initial measurements show it hanging a little lower than I care for but might still be ok.

Thanks

Thanks. I've already read that thread & he didn't seem to mention the issue.
