Factory Valve cover Coating
What is a good way other than scrapeing and scratching the aluminum to get the plastic like coat off my factory 91 valve covers? It is chipping b/c its lie some kinda plastic deal and i wanna put them back on the motor till i get roller rockers. I was gonna strip and powdercoat em.

I'm not sure but I think that maybe letting the valve covers sit in some muriatic acid would do the trick. Let them sit a while and then scrapping off would be a snap, but make sure to be safe with the acid, and don't just dump it in the yard/drain when you're done!
