Grill choices
Ok,so I am looking at all the different grill choices available and there is a bunch....I already collected rust free parts and have several 71-72 grills in good shape to use,but I was also thinking.....Should I convert to a 68 style front end?Or maybe just use a 69-70 grill. So,now I am polling this....
Here is the truck....and pics of the original rust free sheet metal I bought to use w/ the 71-72 grill. Now,the 69-70 grill swap would only mean selling the good 71-72 grills I have and buying a 69-70,but going 68 style,I would have to get a whole different front clip..Another choice would be a billet grill. |

Re: Grill choices
I say you stick with the egg crate but go with a cool looking winch mount bumper, or just weld one up Mad Max style.

Re: Grill choices
I luv em all, but you made me choose! The egg crate has an aggressive look, which is great on a 4x4.

Re: Grill choices
Well, its all a personal prefferance , but if it were mine and I had the money and access to a 67-68 front end, thats what I would use, I like the looks of those and remember its what you like .

Re: Grill choices
Billet looks nice (IMO - only the ghost grille)
But, you can't deny the egg crate. That was my vote. Definately DO NOT go to a 67-68 front clip! I don't like the sloped hood.

Re: Grill choices
You left out the mean lookin 69/70 GMC grills.
i think the 67/68 chevy front end is bad ass, but i tlooks better on a lowered street truck IMO. |

Re: Grill choices
I've got a tube grill and really want to go to the egg crate, so that's my choice.

Re: Grill choices
with Andy, a 68 clip would look better on a street truck than a 4x4. Keep the 71-72 grill, or be REAL COOL and go with a GMC front clip.

Re: Grill choices
A 69 needs a 69 grill & a 71 needs a 71 grill.
There, that was easy... |

Re: Grill choices
Egg crate for sure
if you want to be different, get a 67-68 hood and modify the front lip so it will work with the 72 clip. people will scratch their heads for hours trying to figure out what looks different about your truck.

Re: Grill choices
My personal favorite is the 67-68 front clip. However, for your truck I would go with either the 71-72 billet grill or the 69-70 grill w/ billet inserts and no bowtie on the hood.

Re: Grill choices
I would go with the eggcrate as well, I think it looks great on a 4X4, but I do like the 68 as well...! Mudder's truck is awesome!

Re: Grill choices
Do something 69-72. That truck being 4x4 and what not, I should hope that you take it out in some heavy stuff. And I'd hate to see a good lookin' 68 grille get messed up.
