Where/how does trans detent cable hook to carb?

Does it hook to the throttle cable side...picture would be great! Does it travel with the accelerator back and forth? Thanks in advance. I have a factory linkage, an Edelbrock 1406 on a 1968 327sb.

Re: Where/how does trans detent cable hook to carb?

maybe this will help, I have an edelbrock 650. I had to get a bracket to hold both throttle cable and trans cable. Auto Zone. 18.99
throttle on top, trans on bottom.

on a turbo 350 the cable gets pulled when the throttle reaches about 3/4 throttle for kickdown mode, on a 700 the tranny cable gets pulled equal to the throttle opening so that the tranny knows the throttle position at all times to regulate pressure

Thanks for the pic and words. Does that cable get tightened all the way to the bracket or does it move freely in the groove from front to back as the throttle moves?

I may be wrong but it needs to be set just so the trans is shifting smooth. So in or out depending on your truck. Mine has no play in it and move foward with the throttle. I did adjust it when I put the new bracket in and it seems to be fine
