Re: Second Skin sound deadner
I am not an expert, and have never used a liquid sound deadener, but I found an interesting thread on some other forum that sounds like an interesting idea...
http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/alte...-103610-5.html Just take a look - I'm not necessarily endorsing it until I can try it.

Re: Second Skin sound deadner
I recently installed it in my truck, used Damper [not the Damper Pro]. It was my first time working with sound mat so I can't compare it to anything else, but its just peel and stick, super easy. Second Skin has great service and reasonable prices. My orders arrived in just 3-4 days. I did the floor, up the firewall, back of the cab and inside my doors. I am stoked to install my 3 -10s and the new 1000w Kicker amp in there

Re: Second Skin sound deadner
I just put in some of the Damplifier Pro material in my 72. It was pretty easy to work with, but definately use some heavy duty gloves, that aluminum covering will do a number on your fingertips. The truck isn't on the road yet so it's hard to tell the real effects, but you can definately tell the difference when you tap on the floorboard or back of the cab.

Re: Second Skin sound deadner
Yea, that deadener showdown is a good read. The guy did a ton of testing on different products. Based on his recommendation I chose 2ndSkin.
Pricing; For my floor, back of cab, up the firewall and inside the doors I think I have spent about $220 and I have 3 or 4 sheets left over. Each sheet of regular Damper is 12x24 [2 sqft]. Last edited by BigSky71; 04-13-2007 at 02:15 PM. |

Re: Second Skin sound deadner
I bought 80 sqft at first, then 40 more. I have 4 sheets left that are 2 sqft each.
