Re: Door Lock Disconnect?

Does yours have the steering wheel controls? In my 06 I can change the settings with the steering wheel controls. Check the owners manual

yup steering wheel controls will do it. otherwise it will have to be done by the dealer.

Re: Door Lock Disconnect?

I think it can be done through the radio if you don't have steering wheel controls, depending on the radio.

Question Re: Door Lock Disconnect?

Why would you want to deactivate that?

I mean it's automatic right? When you place it in gear it locks and when you place it in park it unlocks.

I don't get it how could this be a bad thing?

I was just thinking the other day that feature would be nice to have in my '99Tahoe.

Then i wouldn't have to do it manually with power locks that is every time i get in and out.

Oh well it's your truck TEHO.

Re: Door Lock Disconnect?

On my '06 if I leave the key in the ignition then shut the door (not running) it locks the door? Has bitten a few times at the gas station.
Not sure if this is the same thing or not but I wouldn't mind finding a way to disconnect this feature.

Now that i didn't know!

The last few GM cars that iv'e rented has had that system and i left the key's in them at the fuel sta but it never loked me out of the vehicle maybe theres a sensor or a tumbler trigger in the key set and it's no good.

Id'e look in the owners manual and see what it says or call the dealer and see what they say. cuz that just dosen't seam right.

Re: Door Lock Disconnect?

The reason I would like to have it disconnected is when I stop to let someone out of my vehicle, the doors are locked unless I put the tranny in park or they unlock the door.

Also a friend of mine who drives an 05 complains of the same problem...he works for a construction company and guys have to keep unlocking the door to get out if he stops without putting it in park.

Its just a nuisance.

Thanks for the info.
