Another VIN Decode Help request
Howdy.
My VIN is CE149A807949 I used the site's VIN Decoder and learned it's 4X2 V8 Gas Pickup w/cab and bed, 1969 Made in Atlanta The label glued inside the Glove box gave additional info Model=CE10734 which I think says pretty much the same thing. Options include Pwrglide, white/dark blue paint, pushbutton radio blue cloth seat, white trim chrome bumpers. What I'd like to know is how to tell which V8 it came with. Thanks in advance.

Re: Another VIN Decode Help request
if no optional engine is listed, the base engine is there, and the base engine in a 69 V8 truck, would be a 307

Re: Another VIN Decode Help request
Thx Longhorn.
No engine options listed on the glove box label and since the VIN numbers on it match the truck, I'm sure it's the original glove box. I had assumed it was a 307, but had no way of telling for sure. Can you point me to some technical documentation that would state the base engine was a 307? Reason is, I plan on selling the truck this summer, and I'd like to give the future owner as much historical (hysterical?) info on it as possible. Thx.

Re: Another VIN Decode Help request
go to the FAQ, and search for restoration packet. It's from GM, it's free, and it'll document this, and lots more for you.
Did I mention it was free? |
