Zing front clip Questions
Just curious what is the minimum amount that I could z the frame to make it lay out my '66 c10. Also wondering if its possible to get away with not having to modify the steering on the truck. It seems that the norm is 2 inch for a minimum, but just wanted to make sure that this will be the minimum to make the frame lay out w/o hitting the control arms.
Thanks Brendan |

Re: Zing front clip Questions
Even w/a 1 1/8" crossmember notch, I'm almost touching the steering shaft (stock GM manual box w/36x36 splined Borgeson shaft/joints) so you'll have to do steering modifications.

Re: Zing front clip Questions
Awesome, thanks, and will the truck lay out and all with a 1 1/8" crossmember notch. I was thinking yes but figured I'd ask someone who has done it before. And would this possibly be a better solution than zing the frame?

Quote:
Lay it out as far as you can now & subtract 1 1/8 ~ 1.5" & you'll have your answer if it will lay out or not. If I was a gambling man, I would say you'll need a little more & have to do a 'Z' or a Dropmember to plant the rails.
