Wood bed?
I have a 78 GMC Desert Fox Stepside , which is stock with a wood bed floor, should i go oringinal with the wood bed floor...or i was thinking of dimond plate...

Been told im nuts to bring it back from the dead (still going to happen) plans-all stock with a turbo 292 inline 3 speed column shift. and thats it big block 427 and 5 speed trans and ford 9 inch theyhave no home yet thinking what to put them in and a 79 c60 trash truck um no idea i have one

I did diamond plate in a '63, the wood looks much better. If you're going to beat up on the bed diamond plate is fine but if you want it to look good do wood.

I think the stuff will out last the truck as well as the stainless strips. Just don't try running it trough a planer.
I used my Dads 36" planer to square up the Trex and now he has to have the blades resharpened . That stuff is tough but it was pretty easy to use. It looks good therefore serving its purpose.

Hmm great idea, but i can almost determine it is going to get beat up, so maybe i'll go wood with a sheet of the rubber stuff and pull it out when i want the style looks...think so?

Gonna get beat up?? That stuff is pretty tough and if you beat that up that bad the rest of bed will not be long for this world. I use a horse trailer rubber mat in the bed of my other truck. It takes a beatin. It gives off a smell for quite a while but it saves the bed floor.
