pink 64' chevy truck "freakshow"

This truck seems to be causing alot of controversy with rodders. As I'm sure it will with chevy truck guys.
In no way do I want this thread to become a bash fest on this truck. I just thought you guys would like to see it.

And yes like it or not, it is a 64' chevy truck.

I like tastefully built customs. That thing is hideous though. It seems like the owner couldn't decide on a theme so he just put everything in his head on the car.

Does have one thing going for it: a supercharged early Hemi.

I like all the enginuity going into the truck. Not the direction I'd go in, but to each his own and its awesome people are still using our trucks to build up. And amazing motor setup, I'd love to have that.

Oh man! Who ever built this is seriously talented with a welder, hammer and dolly! Not built to my taste, but one should acknowledge the builders abilities on this one - looks like five + vehicles were used to pull this creation off!

Re: pink 64' chevy truck "freakshow"

you know I am kinda diggin it pushing the envelope people have done this stuff for years mixing and matching stuff that people say that wouldnt look good at all.
Had somebody said to me ok I am putting an early chrysler 300 front clip on your truck and it will look like it belongs I would have said give me what your smokin cause thats some good ****.
I am partial to the old school look anyways I might have done some things different but I say thumbs up

Re: pink 64' chevy truck "freakshow"

its incredible the way it was all built up, I just noticed the tap in the mouth of the skull w/ the keg polished in the trunk. Figured I would mention that, cuz that's a lot of ingenuity, and incredible to see.

But, I believe that one of the biggest things to make customs that people I think forget, is that custom isn't just thrown all together, it's also w/ the idea to be better in some way. It seems that most forget this and just slap stuff together, not sayin anything about this, but just something that it seems in a lot of the car scene's people forget.

Re: pink 64' chevy truck "freakshow"

That thing is really cool. As for taste and talent, building a Kustom was a sort of rebellion in it's own right. Back in the early days, those guys having their cars customized wanted something different than everyone else. Not just another Mercury or Ford. Back then there was no stnandard, and most customers have forgotten that. So now every Kustom is supposed tho be a chopped Merc on '57 Cad hubcaps with a DeSoto grille and flames! Yes, there usually was a theme involved and YES, some were thrown together with spare parts and turned out amazing. Find some pictures of pioneering Kustoms, There are as always, The good, the bad, and the ugly. This is my cup of tea, and I'm only 23!!!

Cameron Stevenson
Owner, Imperial Kustom, Boise Idaho

P.S. Where can I find more pictures of that thing, it is truly amazing.

lol nice. I dont know really what to think of it. Im sorta new, only a half a yr or somethin, into these year trucks, so im kinda open to suggestions. I like some of it, like the motor, but other stuff just aint my taste. Props to the guy or girl who did it though, inventive.....
