Question Engine Decoding

Can anyone offer a second openion as to what this i.d number checks too? I have tried to decode it, but it decodes as a 72, 3/4 ton, 400 cid ,210 hp, 8 1/2-1, 4bbl. The problem with that is that I'm positive it is a 350 block.

Thanks.

Re: Engine Decoding

Yea I've got nothing listed like that. Get the block casting number of the back. I have seen racers stamp what ever on the front pad just to make it look good when going through tech. Ya may have some thing odd though.

Re: Engine Decoding

This casting came off the front of the block, front of where the head bolts to the block. I think it was passenger side. All of my other numbers that I have ran checked correct. I have seen a casting number before on the back of a block that was 0010. It was down close to where the transmission bolts up. Is this the same location that I need to check on this block? I have found a 72 engine code that is KW, but it says it a 400. I'm sure this block is a 350. Here is the link I found..http://www.americanclassic.com/paint.htm?p1=engines.
I'll take another look at this block and let you all know what the one on the back is. Thanks for all the input. I have found a lot of good information here.
