Well "Brothers" in SoCal is selling a complete new repro 47 -53 cab for just $8399.99. Comes complete with doors, dash panel, and seat frame. Anybody going to go out and buy one of these?

I think that Dynacor is who is making them. I don't see many people shelling out that kind of cash. Not to mention you still would have to fill the holes in the fire wall if I am correct.

Besides you would miss out on replacing cab corners and floors. Thats would be no fun.

if they as crappy as the 69' camaro convertables they make save your money.if anyone remembers the build up on hot rod tv they were having to refit all the panels.

We have a cab on our floor in our showroom if anyone would like to see it firsthand. It looks to be a nice piece. Comes with doors and dash. Some of the parts we have test fit on it fit real nice.

Well, I am going to stir the pot a little here.

I have NOT seen these cabs first hand, let me make that clear. These cabs may be different than the other repro bodies I have seen (I doubt it, but they could).

I have personally "rubbed" and looked over a number of repro steel bodies. I took the time at a Goodguys event last summer to look at every steel 28-34 body there, looking at them like I was writing an est for body and paint. I have to tell you, they were JUNK. In my opinion, were "better than nothing", but they were EXTREMLY ROUGH. I found one that even had a big sunken "dent" in the upper rear body panel that would have required shinking. And mind you, I have to assume these are the "cream of the crop" brought for display!

Sooooo, when I had the chance at SEMA this last Nov to do the same on the Camaros, 57 Chevy Conv and Mustang bodies, I jumped on it. They too were JUNK. The 57 Chevy was soooooo rough along the tops of the quarters, it looked like a big piece of rope or something with lumps every inch or so, it was HORRIBLE.

In my opinion, if you MUST have one of these bodies to replace a rusted out hulk, that is cool. But don't expect for a second that they are "perfect, new" sheet metal like the original. Look at it more like you are buying a rust free original that was in a hail storm. PLUS every bolt on panel was from a different car and never trial fit. THAT would be more realistic and if you have that impression of the body you won't throw up when it is delivered to your door.

I am sure there are some paint and body folks that live in the Corona area that could go by and look the cab over and give us a estimate for paint (Black BCCC) on this NEW cab for only 89K !!
