This is gonna sound wrong ...

How about some pics of rear ends ...... with fat tires.
I want to put wider tires on the rear of my '69 short step. Currently have 275/60/15's on 10 inch wheels. They are almost touching the inner and outer edges of the fender. I want to cut out the bed sides and put wheel tubs in the bed. I'm having trouble finding wheels with enough back space - the whole back space / offset thing confuses me a little. I don't want to narrow the rear and would like to stay with the 6 lug axels. Any thought or suggestions?

I have a 69 step as well and wanna go as fat as possible without a tub job. Do the 10" rims rub at all? I thought I'd have to stop at 17 x 8" in the back with a 4 1/2 backspace? By the way, mine is bagged with 5 lug.

I will double check the rim size tonight to be certain. They don't rub at all, although it is very close to the bed wall. I have a 4" backspace. The truck is new to me (less than 6 months), so I'm still "getting to know it".

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Checked the rims last night - if I'm measuring correctly, they are 10''. There is 12'' inside the fender. I think the tire section width is just over 11". I can't slide my fingers between the backside of the tire and the bed wall.

Member Phantom Dually used to have an awesome pic of the rear of his truck as his avatar. PM him and I'm sure he would post if for you.
