Cool, but those lights on pics look really blue. If they are that blue you might want to give a call to your local PD, most of them have a thing about blue lights on any vehicle except their own. They may be more white in real life but I'd hate to have my evening ruined over a little blue tinted bulb.

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
I'm not really understanding how you could get them that blue.
If I bought that setup, I'd probably ditch the cheap ricer bulbs for some silverstars. I would also add a wiring harness with relays to let the headlights run right off the battery since the stock wiring isn't really designed for high watt H4 headlights. Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
the pics are not with the headlights on, its just a blue LED that lights the ring around the light... you wire it to the parking light or its own switch... when you turn the headlights on, it drowns out most of that blue and its not as noticable...those are just considered city crusing lights to most

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
i have had a set of the autopal in my truck for years. I have never get the headlights to work correctly with them. When i have them in all four headlights are on. LB's the lowbeams are on and the high beams are on dimly, HB the low beams go dim and the high beams go bright. I do not know what to do with past that.

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
I made a set of these for my 99 Cougar, It involves the rod from a set of horizontal blinds (a clear one), a dremel tool, a propane tourch and two led's. It looks f***ing awesome and is very bright regardless of whether the lights are on or off. if you want specific instructions I'll try to find the link and post it, otherwise PM me and I'll point you in the right direction.

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
So these have blue LED's in the trim rings as shipped from the seller ? No mention of that in the auction. Very cool if they do though.

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
I bought a set of these plastic headlights from APC at my local Advance auto parts store for my Jeep, After ONE WEEK the outer rim started turning brown and the whole front had a gold tint to it. They only had about 20 Min's. use 'ON' because I don't drive much after dark.
I guess it had something to do with the heat build-up inside and being plastic but they looked like crap. I took them back and got REAL Silverstar bulb assembly's and wired with relays and WOW. I guess what I'm saying is BUYER BEWARE, They only look good for a few days.

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
Yeah I did too....So bad I had to get them to order in two extras because one was glued together crooked and the trim ring wouldn't go over and the silver paint in the backing was bubbled in another, The last one in I had to bend the lip edge of the "proper bulb" to get it to fit.
Then they turned brown..... APC is supposed to be a good company but these lights were a waste of time and money, At-least I was able to return them easily. Good Luck with the ebay knock-off crap !

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
With the crowd that APC mostly caters to, and am not at all surprised. LMC also has there own version of these lights but I don't think they have the blue LED's. Waiting to hear how good these ebay ones turn out.
Are these for low beams only? Shouldn't there be a low beam and high beam version? |

Re: found something for our trucks that made me dropjaw...
Just Changing the bulbs should not have effected the wiring. Did the kit also include a harness to add relays? High and low are on two separate circuits so if one is coming on when the other is on you could have power bleeding over to the positive side of the bulbs or you are getting some kind of backfeed on the ground circuit. I'd unplug the headlight sockets and the connector to your dimmer and start looking for continuity between the high and low beam circuits. On the stock wiring you shouldn't have any continuity at all between the two circuits. Even with an aftermarket relay harness you shouldn't have any between the high and low beams.
