Will 15 x 10 rallys fit on the front also?

I may have an oppurtunity to buy some vette style rallys in red (what I want) but They are all 15 x 10. Waiting for the backspacing. Will 15 x 10 even fit the front? They were on a 90 suburban. I have a 68 with 73-87 front crossmember with disc brakes. Here are the rims:

my old SWB had 15 X 10's all around, and never had a problem. (Couldn't tell you the back spacing though) The original 500,000 mile old front springs sagged enough to call it a 2 inch drop too.

Yeah they'll fit... I have 15x10's all the way around with 275R60/15's on all four corners. I have a 2 1/2" / 4" drop as well. They fit and look good!

Will it look goofy with 285 70 r15 3 1/2 inch wide white wall tires? I am concerned the white walls will look goofy on a rim that wide.

Re: Will 15 x 10 rallys fit on the front also?

285/70 is quite a bit taller (about 3" taller and 1/2" wider) then the above mentioned ones (275/60). It should still work with stock suspension, not sure about any drop though. 10" (well 9.5 actually) is the widest rim recommended for both tires, so I think the white-walls should be OK. the height is the only thing I can think of as an issue, but again I think it will work since I had 31/10.50x15s on my truck for a while

Any body know if front=245/60r15----rear=275/60r15 tires would fit on a 15x10 rim and what they would look like. And how they will fit on a 72 with a 4/6 drop.

Whoooo Jorgen. That's a lot of red! As you can tell by the posted pics of trucks with 10" rallys all round these wheels will look good on your Burb too.

Actually I was being a bit vague. I have a '68 stepside. I plan on painting it Blitz Black and going with red rallys and Wide Whitewalls. I just don't know about the front wheels being 15 x 10. I have a 73+ front crossmember and disc brakes. Is that narrower than the stock '68 drum setup? Does anyone know? I will have to change rear axles to make this happen, so I'm not sure what to do yet. I went to discount tire today and got sticker shock. I can buy the rally wheels 6 lug for the back and 5 lug for the front for fairly cheap, but after tires, etc it was almost 1700!!!!! OMG So I'm trying to figure out how to do it cheaper. The tire price really won't change, just the wheel prices I may be able to control. I'm still confused.

Re: Will 15 x 10 rallys fit on the front also?

I'm sorry. I read fast and had you driving a Burb too. I have never heard if the 73 up front ends were any wider from spindle to spindle than the 72 back. I have an 82 front under my 69. Wheels line up in the fenderwells just like originals. I'd say if the 73 up are wider it is not much if any.
$1700 for steel wheels and whitewalls? What size tires are these? Even if you were buying the wheels, trim rings, caps & lug nuts I would think you'd be lookin at less than $800. $900 for the tires? Did I miss something else?

Re: Will 15 x 10 rallys fit on the front also?

Yes, The tires were 200.00 each. The wheels were 60 each, trim rings 30 each (seems way high) and the caps were 20 each. lug nuts, tax, shipping and road hazard ( since the tires were so darn expensive, and this is a driver). That doesn't even include powdercoating them. Some how it all ended up adding up quick. His cost on the tires alone was 185.00, so he isn't making much on those at all. I'm trying to be cheaper, but I really like the vette rallys and the 285 70 r15 or 255 60 r15 wide whites. I am still in sticker shock!

Re: Will 15 x 10 rallys fit on the front also?

I was wondering about the track width also, my 72 blazer has a newer front end under it (rubber bushings) my front wheels stick out quite abit more, like I bought 1.5" wheel adapter/spacers & that isn't quite enough, it is still a tad wider in front??? Are you dead set on the whites?? You can buy BFGs way cheaper than that.

WOW!!!! You might as well skip the rallyes and go with 18" front and 20" rear custom rims for that price. Thats way too much money. Are these mail order or local. Even mail order would not be that much. Try Stockton Wheel or Wheel Vintique or ask around the board. Please before you spend all that money. I went to the swapmeet out here (Los Angeles) and picked up 2 15x8's for $50. So it can be done. Hang in there.

Hey Jorgensensc,
Now that you've gone to the store to check on Discount tire prices check their site on line. A friend at work saved a ton buying his tires on line. Had them mounted at the local tire shop!
