Buying Headers, any suggestions?

Alright, I'm currently in the market for headers for the small block out of my blazer and I'll be running them on that for about 8 months before I start on tearing the blazer down and making it the real project that it is. Before I went out and spent the money I thought that I'd see if anyone has any suggestions, so far I've looked at Hedman, Hooker and Sanderson...Any help would be appreciated. As far as power gains, I don't care a whole lot but I'd prefer the power in the lower rpm range. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Re: Buying Headers, any suggestions?

I bought some summit ones that I really liked, but would not fit with my angle plug heads. I had to get hookers. I am not impressed. The shine (both were ceramic coated) was better, smother finish. After just 10 months, I'm seeing rust on these hookers. The summit ones looked A LOT better, but just didn't fit. Oh ya, there were also about $100 cheaper.

I just wanted to add that my ceramic coated Hooker super comps have been on the truck for about 5 years now, & they still look brand spanking new.

Thorley Tri-Y's would be my choice, plan on getting a set in the future, a little pricey but to me worth it

Re: Buying Headers, any suggestions?

Those are nice. I keep toying with the same idea. I put manifolds back on after the ancient headers started leaking. Now I am looking at Hooker, Gibson, Summit, etc.

I'll be watching this thread carefully.

Re: Buying Headers, any suggestions?

I ran dynomax black ones on my 76, excellent headers, after I pulled the motor due to too much cancer, I saved them, and put em on the 86 4x4, they were great on it too. Then we traded it off.
