The front end rebuild with new steering pieces and all new bushings and ball joints is very rewarding to drive. The steering feel is very firm and precise and it'll ride like a dream. You get to feel just how the truck drove when it was driven off the dealer lot when new.

check the frame just to be sure. Dont rule it out just because you have a 2wd.. Granted I abused my truck more than the you street truck guys do, but its always worth a check before you throw money at things that arent going to fix it. I rebuilt my whole front end about 3-4 months before I realized my frame was busted..

Re: play time = bad time

Rebuilding the front end on mine was one of the most rewarding things I have done. It drives sooo much better now.

I plan to keep my truck forever, and I drive it daily (when it isn't broken ) so I rebuilt it all with Moog replacement parts. I wanted the high quality and better ride that those parts provide. I just bought them here and there as I could afford them, and replaced everything at once so that i would not have to get it aligned several times. I was able to buy the parts from my local auto parts store, but Summitracing.com sells them as well.

You can buy kits for the front end from most places that sell suspension stuff. I bought my drop spindles/springs from http://www.performancesuspension.com. They sell the kits for about $300.
