Re: Dome Light Question

It plugs into a pigtail coming from the fuse panel, if you have door switches (about half way down between the door hinges) thier harness just plugs into the main dome light harness by the fuse panel. When the door opens, the switch grounds out, and completes the circut.

Re: Dome Light Question

Do you have door switches ???? Need to figure that out first.

If you don't have door switches, then maybe this will help.

Mine didn't work. Tested voltage. Had voltage. I thought it must be a bad ground. Grounded the dome light to the cab ,,,,HE!! yeah,,,,, I have light. Only problem is it wouldn't shut off unless you took the dang bulb out !!!!!

I had an old light switch and decided to figure out how it worked. Checked the continuity on the connections when the dome light should be on and found out the dome light comes on by being grounded. I fished new wires from the dome light to right underneath the fuse box and spliced them in. Dome light works perfect now.

Re: Dome Light Question

By chance is your headlight switch knob rotated to the point, the dome light circuit is completed.

Re: Dome Light Question

When the headlight switch knob is turned all the way to the left, the dome light comes on. Turning it to the right makes the lights in the guages brighter...

Re: Dome Light Question

Last time i drove my truck at night turning the switch to the right makes the dash lights dimmer, turning to the left makes the dash lights brighter, and all the way left the dome light comes on.
