Cameo

Got a quick question for you 55-59 truck experts. What would a 1955 Cameo go for? This one is a ground up rebuild, not origional except for the paint and interior. It's got a 300hp 350 with P/S and 700-r4. Just curious. Thanks.

Re: Cameo

Cameo's sometime go for crazy money, might want to do a search on Ebay for past auctions and see how they fared.

Re: Cameo

She's beautiful. Drop it down on those wide whites...oooh I think I wet myself!
If she is straight and rust free... could be worth a fortune. More if you had the original motor and tranny.

Re: Cameo

Depending on what's all been done and by the way the truck looks in the picture, I would say $35k. But it always comes down to, it's only worth what somone is willing to pay.

Re: Cameo

Well now that I'm a supporter I'll give you the lowdown: This is the last truck my Dad built, he passed away about 9 weeks ago, and this is one of his we can't keep. It's got about 450 miles since the rebuild was finished about two years ago. We started by pulling the cab and bed off the frame, powdercoating the frame and all suspension parts with a semi gloss black. I bent some stainless brake lines, and we assembled the suspension with stock parts, a GM power steering gearbox was installed on the factory straight axle. The 350 motor was rated by the builder @ 300hp, never dynoed so we're not sure if this is true, it's backed by a Phoenix built 700r4, with a stock rear end. The body was painted bccc to match as close to the factory colors of commercial red and bombay ivory. The bed has red oak wood and polished stainless strips and hardware. The interior is covered in the close to factory red and white, cloth and vinyl. All wiring has been replaced with a Painless or Ron Francis kit, not sure which one he used. A Vintage Air unit was installed also. This a really solid truck, all rust was repaired the right way, cut out, new metal welded in, ground and finished. I'll try to post some more pictures this week.

Re: Cameo

First off, My heartfelt Condolences on the loss of your father.

The truck should be a good driver with the upgrades you have added, and I know you want as much as the market will bear, but you must have a asking price, and it is ?
