Where is this steering wheel from?

My dad wants to put a steering wheel on his 1947 truck, but it has a diffrent coulumn, and he was told its best to find what column it is and by the steering wheel kit for that coulmn. Now i pretty sure is from an impala cuz thats what the steering wheel is,but I need a specific year or years. Thanks,Ive been looking online but their so many customized impalas that i cant find any lol.
Sorry for the quality but here they are:

Re: Where is this steering wheel from?

Most all chevy column accept the same steering wheels. Just buy a wheel adapter from your local parts store for a 70's gm column and try it. It should work without any problems. I have one at home, I can give you the grant wheel adapter kit number later today or tomorrow.

Re: Where is this steering wheel from?

There are some nice wheels for a corvette and camaro and buick, they all use the same hub which is a 6 bolt (screws) to hold the wheel to the hub and they will fit your column.
This a camaro hub with a aftermarket wheel (its the only one I could fine)

These look nice with a billet adaptor (all from grant).
Can be found on ebay used for 50-75 bucks.
Then buy the adaptor you need.

Re: Where is this steering wheel from?

Oh, one other thing. I picked up a remanfactured power steering gear from Wes (classic heartbeat). The redhead steering gears he has are remanfactured with bigger bearings to hold up to the radial tires and I got the variable ratio unit which has a custom cut set of gears. It's like driving a new truck. I put these in my 72' and don't know if you can get them for earlier models. I would contact Wes to see if he has them or will make them.
