1939 Chevy cabover on newer frame??

I just bought a 1939 Chevy Cabover tilt dump bed . I have seen the body be put on a newer 78-87 Chevy dually chassis. Does anyone know where I could find some info on this? I was also thinking of keeping it on the same frame and making it a car hauler not sure yet. The green 39 COE is what I had in mind? Let me know what you guys and gals think?

Have not been there in a while, but you might find some info at:
http://www.classiccoe.com/
Keep us posted, I have always liked these, but have never come across one suitable for a project.

Anything is possible if you have enough metal and welding rods

Re: 1939 Chevy cabover on newer frame??

I think it would be an awesome project.. I have stared, studied and pondered such a project myself.. I would use a later model chassis prefferably a GM motorhome or P30 (stepvan) due to them already having a steering box and front suspension set up for such a forward mounted cab. which in my eyes would make for a little less work..
Here are 3 locally that are for sale, two even come with dually chassis.

Even thought I already have way too many projects I have to keep telling myself... Stay off of craigslist! Stay off of craigslist! Stay off of craigslist! Stay off of craigslist!.. LOL
