Re: Control arm question
I rebuilt my front end and replaced everything..........I had to get new lower control arms to replace dropped a-arms....I took them apart OFF the truck; I had to use a 3/4 drive ratchet to break the caps off.....I stood on the a-arm while my buddy cranked the rachet!!! It looked as funny as it sounds....they comme right apart....I believe that putting them together you have to 'center' the bushing as the caps screw on and the a-arm travels on the thread...it was a few years ago, so Im not exactly remembering...I had never done it and I did not find it difficult........good luck, Jeff

Re: Control arm question
On my 89 suburban I pulled the arms off and took them to get pressed out. When you back to reinstall you have to let the truck rest on its own weight before you tighten back up.

Re: Control arm question
Its been awhile since ive been on the site.........I dont remember any titeness issues......back the caps off some and it should be fine. I remember screwing with them a little bit; they really dont spin that far once they are re-hung on the cross member. The other response to youre question doesnt apply......different suspension altogether.
