Shifter knob for np205
My shifter for 4wheel drive was missing when I bought my truck. Is this the correct shift pattern?

Re: Shifter knob for np205
cool thanks.
Dumb question. So when I am not in 4Wheel drive, just normal driving. Should I be neutral or 2WD High? |

If you are in neutrol you won't go far, unless you have a twin stick. Then it is a whole different ball game... J.

Re: Shifter knob for np205
2HI. Neutral is just that, no power to any wheels.

Re: Shifter knob for np205
Depends where its leaking...there are only like 2 or 20 places a 205 will leak.

Re: Shifter knob for np205
A few years back when everyone at work had the 4WD shifter knobs in their truck, (now there on the dash) we would be jokesters, and put the shifter in neutral - and then sit there and laugh at the guy trying to figure out why his truck wasn't moving!

Re: Shifter knob for np205
NP205s are notorious for leaking for a lot of reasons. You often find that the seals that keep the trans fluid in the trany and the 205 fluid in the transfercase---leak so that the transfercase winds up with trany fluid in it. If it is just a very minor leak-drop or so---I wouldn't mess with it.
