Popped my top

I know alot of my truck friends don't make it over to the First Gen K5 forums, including Barn9 drove from Kansas to Dallas, Tx with me to go get the K5, so I thought I would post up a couple pics here since I have the K5 running and just pulled the top. When I told Barn9 to check out the pics in that section, he didn't even know it existed.

How incredibly cool it was to drive for the first time topless this morning! My girls and I just went around the block, but will get it out on the road later today - very sweet!

There are a couple threads in the First Gen K5 section about getting the K5 roadworthy.

Just had to share my excitement!!!

Let's see if this works, file is too large for an avatar, but maybe it can be seen this way.

Don't worry, things won't be changing much on this one for the time being - nice paint is overrated! With this one, don't have to worry about scratching it, it's pre-scratched!

My youngest especially likes it - she always wants to take it when we have somewhere to go. My other daughter likes it too, just not as much. My wife on the other hand, hasn't been hooked by it yet

These tires and rims were on my 69 when I bought it. They are General tires, what I would call the classic farm tire, 7.50" x 31" x 16" with very deep tread. They howl as much as my 35" Swampers on my 69!

I had a convertible when I was in high school but that car just doesn't compare at all to this K5 - this is so much more fun! Really it's kinda of bizarre driving it with the top off - just feels odd to be in a truck minus the top.
