Post theres a C50 running around town with a pickup bed on it

looks good too, and fits right, its a 73-up though, but still, pretty neat, i assum eit was a grain truck or tow truck at one time before the bed was bolted on it, that would be a neato pickup to have

LMAO DR
now what is the point of having a bed on a C50? IMO a flatbed or something is all that belongs..... a C50 really isnt a personal pickup

i think the C50 with the pickup bed on it looks badassed, it really does look cool. everything lines up and matches perfectly,
I owul;d use it as personal pickup, damn straight, it would be cool as hell

the reason its done like that my friends currently doing it to a 600 is that if theres a bed on it you dont have to weigh in at weigh stations

I can tell you that my insurance company doesn't care if my C30 has duals or not; it gets classified as a commercial vehicle ($700/year!) as soon as they hear it has a flatbed. There's a horsey set a town away from me who have a C50 Kodiak with a Cat and an Allison extended crew cab with a duallie box for pulling their 8-horse slantload gooseneck horse trailer, and I'll bet their insurance is less than my C30 ramptruck.
Just because it's classified as a pickup!

Duallie,
Allstate is my insurance company and when I said I have a C30, the question they ask was what is the GVWR. Mine is 10,000 and it doesn't cause problems. They said anything over 10,000 was a different story. My truck has a flatbed/stake body with a big hydraulic dump cylinder run from the transmission PTO. How's that beautiful car carrier coming anyways? You should be getting close to being done. Can't wait to see finished pictures.

Mr Speed has a C30 he is making into a car hauler, wonder what ever happened to him, im curious about it...

lol D R, i ownt get into that here, lol

here in IL, all the 1 ton trucks have to be registered as commercial vehicles and plates are almost twice as much as car and light truck ones, are about 165 nowadays, and are only good for 6 months but if you do it before a certain month of the year then it costs less, i forgot which month now,,

have to have all trucks over 3/4 ton inspected by inspector before using them to haul, no emissions on anything hereat least,,,,

Interesting, here in Ohio, one tons are licensed as private pick ups...they cost a little more (dunno how much....yet) but it is just a truck to the BMV.

DDSmith: Allstate is slowly getting run outa town up here; State Farm is my company. I told my agent it was strictly private carrier and she didn't care if it had duals, but flatbed was the critical item. Otherwise it woulda been $130/year or so.
Yup, its getting real close to finished...
a console switch plate (at the anodizers) and then door panels and seat belts and the interior IS DONE! Then a few details better accessed while the clip is off, and ITS FENDER TIME! Debuting at a car show May 11, even if I have to drag it there.
