1928 chevy Truck-Vancouver, WA

I was digging around in my Dad's Wife's shop/shed & buried behind a bunch of stuff is a really nice 1928 Chevy truck that belonged to her dad, it's in great condition & would make a bad a$$ hot rod, it has 1963 plates on it, so we think the old man backed her in the shop in 63 & that's where it's been since, it has the original engine & transmissiion, & from what I could tel....NO RUST! I know this thread is worthless without pictures, I will get back over there with my digital & take some pic's, I do know she is interested in selling it, just not sure how much yet.

Re: anyone interested in a 1928 chevy Truck?

the cab is like that, but it has a normal bed on the back that all blends in with the cab like the old trucks do, hers is all original except the paint job is newer, the radiator on hers has a like a honey comb type design as far as the fins go, but the same shape as this one. She did tell me that there is a spare engine & transmission for the truck also, I lifted the hinged hood & everything looked pretty good & all bone stock, just dusty/dirty.It literally looks like you could change the fluids, put in fresh gas & drive it away. (the old guy had about ten old cars & storage sheds full of spare parts, all the other cars are long gone, she didn't think she was ever gonna sell this truck but things change. I left them a message letting them know I wanted to come over & take some pictures, I wll do it as soon as I can.

Re: anyone interested in a 1928 chevy Truck?

I finally got over there today & took some pictures, I'm at work & the cable for my camera is at home, so I will post the pic's when I get home tonight. It looks really good. it's been sitting right where the old man drove it in & parked it. the plates say 1963, so thats the last time it was licensed, not sure how long it's been stored, I do know the old guy used to drive it to work all the time back in the 30's, 40's 50's/. It sure would make a cool Hot Rod. If I had a shop, the tools & the extra $$ I'd be all over it.

Re: anyone interested in a 1928 chevy Truck?

I'd be surprized if it just fires up. Very likely needs a good cleaning inside, gas in fuel line etc. probably turned to jellied sterno long ago. If everything is intact and original on the truck I would leave it as it is.

Re: anyone interested in a 1928 chevy Truck?

I'm sure they don't want any trades, she never planned on selling the old truck, she used to ride in it with her Dad when she was a girl, now the dang property tax's on her house are causing her to have to sell it. I'm sure it would take some new fuel & some cleaning, change fluids ect. but it sure looks like you could just drive it out.

Here's the link to the for sale post with info & Pic's.

Re: anyone interested in a 1928 chevy Truck?

It also includes an extra stock engine & transmission, I guess the old guy planned on keeping her on the road a long time!

Nice truck, and I'd love to have it, but you're not allowed to cross-post like this.

Re: Anyone interested in a 1928 Chevy Pickup Truck?

I was trying to make it show up on the main board page so some fella's that wanted to know when i had the pic's could see it, when I posted it in the trucks for sale area, it doesn't show up on the main page, sorry, I wasn't trying to be sneaky, I just wanted people to be able to see it when it got posted.

I moved it here for you. If you want to post it on the classifieds you'll have to do that yourself.

She's a beauty! I'm trying to get rid of one toy because I bought another. If I had the extra cash I would add it to my stable. Good Luck with it.

Very nice truck, definitely something which should stay original and not chopped up. I would have a hard time not wanting to pull it out, clean it up, and get it running.
