Re: just brought it home from the tint shop

That looks really sweet man! I don't think 5% is legal around here though which sucks because in my town back home they are anal about tint laws, so I will be putting something lighter on my truck.

panteratron: truck is hugger orange

71swbchevy: it's not legal around here either, for the side windows, but $$ talks for side jobs

Re: just brought it home from the tint shop

Yeah I could get it darker than is legal but the cops LOVE to pull people over and check in the nearest town, if it wasn't for that I would do it. BTW I think your truck is going up as my background if you don't care, that is the color I am going with on my truck and if it turns out half as nice as yours I will be happy!

Re: just brought it home from the tint shop

Man that looks great.

I have about 6 hours into the removal of the 15 year old tint on my windows. It might have looked great when it was new, but now its distorted the view so bad you can't see out of them. What a pain in the ass.

That is the down side of tint.
The dark black looks so nice, but makes the inside much hotter though.

That's sweet, but a bit dark for me. A lighter tint is easier to see out of at night. Each their own.

once you get the film off use the windex with vinegar brand and the residue will come right off.. if you dont use that you will be razor blading for way more than six hours

Re: just brought it home from the tint shop

dont use vinegar it is a acid and will mess up the new tent. use a chemical solvent like denatured alchohol or preferibly acetone. they dry in secs no film or chemical residue what so ever. walmart sells them both.

Re: just brought it home from the tint shop

Dark is cool especially in California's triple digit summers. But, don't drive that over here or it's ticket time. California's law says no tint on Driver and Passenger side windows. It's funny, you can go to a shop to have something done legally to your vehicle that's illegal. Humphh

That's why I went with the legal limit on my sides - back is 15%.
The 5% does look great though. From an aesthetic perspective you can't beat it IMO - I just can't see worth a crap at night out of it. (My Camaro was 7%).
