***The Official Launch of SlickOrange.com***

OK, my new site is up.
Anytime I do anything to my truck, I will make the changes on there as well as announce it on here. I have worked pretty hard on making this site nice. I think it is pretty workable.

Let me know what you think.

Looks nice, but why do you have a splash page with a redirect?

Well, I built the page in .shtml.
Apparently, my provider doesn't pickup .shtml as the default directory, so I just forwarded to that from the intro page. Plus, that's where I have my copyright info, etc. I also may use that page to preload images.

And really, I kind of like it. It establishes a look to be recognized. Kind of like a logo - immediate recognition.

Re: ***The Official Launch of SlickOrange.com***

Nice site for a nice truck.

Since you asked what I think, I think you need to take the truck to some scenic or historic sites in the local area and take some more pictures. I like the one with the horsey in it, but the pictures could be composed better. Keep the background far in the distance and use a narrow depth of field. It will make your truck jump out in the picture. A nice dark green or blue will go with the bright orange truck color. I am no professional photographer, but that is my opinion. Take a ton of pictures and hope you get a few great ones out of the bunch. Besides, it gives you reason to drive it.

Nice work, the super gallery is neat, too.

I like the look. I was just wondering why you did a redirect rather than just a standard splash page with an "enter" button. From my professional design opinion, I like the look of the redirect page a bit better with the orange than trying to read white text on a black background, but overall it is nice.

Joe - that is planned! Spring is blooming a bit late around here due to a late freeze and a few nights of temps if the 20's after stuff had already started pollinating, so I am hoping to catch some good background shots on a creek bank or something.

Those pictures were just some quickies, and I took the best that you see out of about 50 or so. I always try to take at least 2 of each shot, because 1 is usually better than the other.

A couple of you have asked about the radio/ac controls.
The controls are from the aftermarket A/C I have. They are electronic. They fit inside the original center radio opening. So, I just made an adapter plate to put them up there, and put the radio down below. The radio is held in with the metal cage that comes with most radios now days, and is trimmed out on the sides with some ABS plastic.

Thanks everyone for the critique. Constructive criticism can go a long way for improvement!
