Good news and bad news!
The bad news is lightning struck my house and caught it on fire last night. The GOOD news is the Critter (which is just inside the closed garage door in the video) was unharmed. It looks like I will have to move out of my house for a couple months so that insurance can work its “magic” and get things repaired. It seems that it will need a new roof, roof trusses, some interior walls, and carpet at this point. Long story short, I don’t know if I will be getting much work done to the blazer over the next few weeks. The way I see it things could have always been worse!

Re: Good news and bad news!
Wow - that sucks - but at least everyone is OK - that is why you have insurance (or so they say).
Good luck with the repairs... Tom |

Re: Good news and bad news!
No, I was at my girlfriend’s when it happened, but my roommate was there. He's the guy in the green t-shirt in the video. He and all the neighbors said all the houses shook and everything outside was bright pink. Scared the hell out of everyone. One of my neighbor ladies said she thought at first it was the end of the world! She was dead serious too. Anyway, nobody got hurt and most of the fire damage was to the attic, so most of my material possessions such as tools, fishing equipment, guitars etc. are all fine. Thanks for the good thoughts everyone.

Re: Good news and bad news!
That is crazy! Something we don't see around these parts too often is lighting that hits the ground (or houses).

Re: Good news and bad news!
It's behind the garage door that's closed. I wasn't there, but as soon as I got the phone call and heard that everyone was ok, I hauled ass over there praying that the Critter and my guitar collection were ok. Thankfully, all the improtant stuff was ok. The Insurance adjuster was out today, they are basically going to rebuild the ENTIRE house mainly due to water and smoke damage. Things will suck for a couple of months, but might end up pretty good when its all said and done.
