Got my truck bagged
First and foremost i want to thank Ron (aka Filmguy) for allowing this to happen. I am on a serious budget and he made me a smoking deal. I got the complete front suspension hub to hub, crossmember and all. I got the complete rear setup, trailing arms and all, minus rear end. He even threw in the power steering gearbox and all tie rods and center link and all of this stuff was virtually new. That is why this forum is so awesome, guys helping out other truck fanatics. Ron is a super nice stand up guy. Now for the truck. I bought it as a one-owner, original paint, 100,000 mile original truck. It is as i bought it minus a few odds and ends, a comfort-grip steering wheel, and a tach. The suspension consists of:
front: dropped spindles bags stock control arms all new components rear: stock trailing arms with ece boxing plates ece super track bar 2" lowering blocks bags ece frame notch ece shock mount relocator kit compressor system: air ride tech arc4000 first pics are aired out last pic is ride heighth comments good or bad welcomed p.s. - crappy pics courtesy of me, i stink at photography p.s.s.- i did the install completely by myself which makes me even prouder of it. Took about four days, plenty of bruises and busted knuckles, lots of grease and sweat, and plenty of four letter words.

BB72CHEVKT, Early is basically same as brownwood, 70 miles from abilene. nothing happens here, is your truck a highlander?

Early Classic: http://www.earlyclassic.com/
Please let us know what wheel and tire combo you're using - Wheel width and diameter. Tire size. Backspacing on front and rear wheels. Thanks, and that looks WICKED.

Re: Got my truck bagged
NO, its not a Highlander. Nothing special. Its a Custom Deluxe. Two tone like yours. Olive and white with white seat & belts, door panels. I'm gonna get some better pics on here one day.

Re: Got my truck bagged
Are you sure, generally the parchment doorpanels, etc. i've seen have been highlanders. Does it say special promotional in glovebox?

Re: Got my truck bagged
Tires are 275-60/15 rear on 10 inch wheel. Tires are 235-70/15 front on 8 inch wheel. I'm not positive on backspacing, but Ron hit it spot on and i know he has another set so i will try to contact him for that specific. Thanks everyone for + comments!!!

Re: Got my truck bagged
When are you going to cut it down to a shortbed? Weren't you talking about doing that before if I am thinking correctly.

Re: Got my truck bagged
yes, i have everything to do it with, but i am going to make myself just drive it until my son is ready to work on it. probably 10 years from now, he is 3 1/2. I am scared to death to do anything to it, because one thing leads to another. I hate the holes in door from below eyeline mirrors, but i could weld them up, prime them, paint, then on and on and on, so i am leaving it like it is. If i start a build thread, someone please come to my house and beat the hell out of me. Long bed is growing on me anyway.

Wow! Looks good! Other set of wheels were sold to Killer71 about a month ago. I am still working on my bed floor. I will post pics when I have something to show.

Re: Got my truck bagged
I think the fronts are 5" bs and the rears are 5" bs.
Yep, the bed sides have been dipped and all the rust removed by Metal Rehab. They have been epoxy-primered and are on my jig now for moch-up. I am in the process of raising the bed floor to cover the big notch. Bed sides need more work than I planed, but I am pleased that I have them. You were exactly correct when you told me they were good where they needed to be. Thanks again. Wait til you see them. |

Re: Got my truck bagged
cool, i am happy, not knowing exactly what was there i was concerned, but for the $, i don't think you'd ever find any better. I woulda been estatic to use them other than the stake holes, which worked perfect for you. Hope all is well, and Paul still talks about ya'll.

Oh, I almost forgot! I found the rear license plate bracket for your bumper that goes along with the e.c.e. hidden hitch. Still interested?

I normally don't care for long wheel base trucks ... but I just made an exception ... that is seriously kick ass bro!
Well done! |
