Removing leafs in leaf springs?

I was reading about air rides airbags and they said the removed 1or 2 leafs to lower the truck does anyone know how far this drops the truck and which ones to remove. I am not so much worried about hauling any thing and I am going to add some air shocks in the back. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Removing leafs in leaf springs?

Early Classic has drop shackles... That's where I got mine (look in the suspension section of their catalog at http://www.earlyclassic.com). As far as removing leafs, you want to take the bottom ones out. As much as I know about leaf springs, the top leaf is always the one with the bushings that mount to the spring perches. From there down, they are progressively shorter and tapered a bit so that they fit together nicely. You could probably take a few out of the middle but it would just make a whole lot more sense and look better to take them out from the bottom. I left 3 on my truck... I have seen people only leave 2 behind (I think N2TRUX left 2 and his truck turned out awesome).

Re: Removing leafs in leaf springs?

I left 3 out of five and it dropped the truck around 2 inches.
