Installed my Cruise Control Today
Just finished installing control in my truck today, everything came from a 77 Jimmy, the only parts i had to buy is a short speedo cable and some new vacuum hose. Here's a tip for anyone installing this system, there is a green wire that goes to the transducer, it's wrapped up becuase it is like 20ft long, DON'T CUT THE GREEN WIRE! I did and the cruise didn't work, guess its some kind of special restance wire, needs to be that for proper restance. I put wire back to the proper length and everything worked right away. Here's some pics......

Re: Installed my Cruise Control Today
That is sweet! You need to do a small write up so the rest of us know what to get and how to do it! How long did it take and just what is involved? I need to do this to Low Buck for sure.
Thanks for sharing. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: Installed my Cruise Control Today
there is a good writeup on the a cruise install in the faq section, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=151318 I used this as a guide to install mine. Took me about 8 hours to do, thats including the time it took to figure out what i screwed up the first time, painting everything, etc. Total cost was around $60, including new lines and speedo cable, and the used cruise parts from my friend. Here's another pic of how i mounted the vacuum kill switch on the lower steering collum plate.
